What can I do

When my wife file for divorce, she took all our financial documents to her lawyers office and left them there. I ask her why can't the lawyer makes copies. Don't I have right to get copies of documents? She only gave me a few of them. Can anybody tell me what I can do. I don't have a lawyer yet.

You need your own lawyer. You can get copies of financial records by requesting them from the banks or other institution. Yes it is work but this whole process is work.

this happens all the time, sadly.

i'm not 100% here, but i believe the lawyer simply has to share this information with you/your lawyer.  if these accounts are in both names, they can't keep them from you.

havign said that...if the accounts are really in both names, it's a matter of making phone calls/emails to the various institutions to get your own copies.

facts are facts.  they keep hide the paperwork...but trust me, there's more paper where that came from.

get your own.
