child support?

so another silly question. i'm from illinois if that helps or not. why are child support and childcare expenses separate? doesn't a person pay child support for the purpose of childcare? when paying out over1600.00 amonth alone in child support, isnt;t a little greedy to also have to pay babysitters also?

Who did what to whom in their marriage is irrelevant. No one is "talking crap" about you - you posted in a manner that illicted the responses you got - you don't use the word greedy when it comes to the care of a child without some backlash. It's just the way the cookie crumbles.

First - doesn't matter if your situation is handled differently - your situation is not the same as his - you can't compare them.

And in answer to your question no, child support is not for child care - it is for ensuring his part of the responsibility of a roof over the child's head, food on the table, clothes on their back, medical coverage, toys, entertainment, grooming etc are taken care of...day care, is a seperate expense because not all situations call for it and the needs is so wide ranged from full time to part time and different costs - if doesn't make practical sense to jsut try to lump it in the child support amount.

Word to the wise, I SERIOUSLY suggest you keep your opinions regarding his exwife, their situation and the money issues to yourself and let them deal with it. Your nose enters into it when you aren't even his wife yet life will be extremely miserable for you if you ever get to the point of saying I Do. Fine and dandy to do some research for him if he doesn't have the time or doesn't understand something - but keep your information factual - not opinionated. If you can get so uptight and pissed off just from an internet posting, I can only imagine how much friction flies when it comes to you and his ex - and all that does in the long run is hurt the kids.

Know this, you will NEVER know the entire story regarding their marriage and the demise of it - you have his - and of course it is going to be where he is the complete victim. Rarely is that the case....so just watch how much venom you spit in her direction. I'm not bashing you, just giving you some very practical advice for your future.

oh also, before you continue to talk crap about me...i am not male i'm trying to help my fiance. and he didnt cheat. his ex cheated on him for a year, locked him out of his house, refused him his children, and is trying to take him to the cleaners. the divorce was already finalized and shes coming up with all sorts of "bills" that he needs to pay. i am just trying to get help and understand as i have my own child thats child support is handled differently. so next time you assume something think twice and maybe ask questions before judging.

i think you both misunderstood my question, but thank you for attacking me. my question is, in illinois doesn't child support include childcare (daycare for example or after school program both children are over the age 8)? the ex wants the 1600.00 a month plus more for "daycare". and im going to be an "adult" and not comment on the assumptions you both made about me without knowing the situation and circumstances...

You brought a child into the world. You are responsible for that child until he/she becomes an adult, regardless of where the child lives.

It is the height of selfishness to refuse to care for your own children. If you have to go without, this is the choice you made when you decided to become a parent.

You have an obligation to love and care for that child and do your best to give him/her the best you possibly can. You are an adult. Accept your responsibility like one.

Can I smack you?  **virtual smack**  Raising kids is expensive.  Full-time daycare for an infant can easily exceed $1600 a month.  It's not greed--it's called trying to find high quality care for the most important people in your life.

Isn't it a little greedy to not want your child to have a safe, loving, and nurturing environment?
