My ex, after a breif flirtation with the idea of reconciliation, has also decided that it's too much trouble. Dealing with that reality is terribly painful and I'm trying my best just to get through the day.

It's so difficult when someone whom I once loved and who professed love for me, says they don't anymore. It's even worse actually believing it for myself.

I'm sorry that you're in this hurting phase.   You need to look at your prior blogs, prior comments.  You know what you need to do.  It hurts, yes.  But you know the truth about his feelings, he's shown it to you over and over.

You got to let go.  You can not start recovering until you let go. 

Promise me that if he doesn't show up or at least contact you tonight, you start day one of recovery tomorrow.  Not the next day.  Not wait another week "to see".  Tomorrow.

((hugs))  And trust me, I am not in a happy place myself.  I am in a living hell right now.  But I am taking steps to recover from all the travesty.

It's never easy having to face the fact that he has quit trying. I know how hard this is and I am so sorry that you are having to go through it. Honestly, if he isn't willing to carry his share of the making things work process, then it just isn't going to work. I spent many years of my life trying to fix my marriage but it was all one-sided and we were fine as long as he got to go out and do as he pleased but I just couldn't take his cheating any longer so I had to walk out.....and believe me, closing that door was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do in my life, but after much time of grieving, I am finally over the worst part of it.  I wish you the best.
