Does my abusive wife have right to collect alimony

I was together with my wife for 2 years before she left me on Jan 1, 2007. While were married she was physically and verbally abusive. Because we married young and unprepared we never had a place of our own. Half the time we lived on welfare and received supplementary housing through Social Services. Our last place of residence was in my mothers house, where we paid no rent, until we were finally able to move out on our own. When I finally managed to save enough money to pay a deposit on a Trailer for rent, she took the money and rented another trailer and never gave me her new address. These are the facts: she has two kids of her own; while we were married she abused drugs and alcohol; I have witnesses who can testify that she was both verbally and physically abusive; my name is not on the lease for her trailer because the lease was purchased after Jan 1, 2007; She is on Social Security; While together she Never had custody of her kids; we were never legally separated, she just left and 9 months later i filed for an uncontested divorce; she has contested the divorce and could possibly be going for some kind of alimony. I left out no important details. I never returned her abuse even though we would argue and i would call her names. I never laid a hurtful hand on her. and because of injury I never made over 10,000 dollars per year while married to her. My last job was at pizza hut where i made an astounding 8.75 per hour. My question is, can she be entitled to some alimony, and will the court lean towards her.

It sounds like you need an atty - unfortunately, since she is contesting, I wouldn't think you could represent yourself and be fairly represented - look in your yellow pages and start calling domestic attys and see if someone can represent you for a decent amount....good luck to you....
