Can he be made to carry insurance on me?

I am married to an active duty Air Force TSgt. During the course of our marriage, I was physically, emotionally and verbally abused, as were our children. We have been separated for almost 2 years, during which time I was/have been continually harassed, threatened, and intimidated. He filed for divorce in July '06 after I left, and signed off custody of our daughter. He then decided he had made a mistake and let the papers lapse and the case was thrown out for lack of progress. In the last 2 years he has threatened to take her away from me, giving reasons why he thinks he can prove me an unfit mother. He's threatened to with hold my child support, to come to my house and assault my boyfriend, etc. Late last year I was diagnosed as having a panic/anxiety disorder and I am now on medication and in therapy to help me deal with the stress and abuse I have endured at the hands of this man. I am TERRIFIED of losing the insurance he carries on me with the divorce, as I'm sure because of my preexisting "issues" I will have a hard time finding insurance of my own, and terrified of what the premiums may be. I am now a nanny. I was a stay at home mom until I left, attempted to put our daughter in daycare and just decided that it's not worth it financially. As I'm sure everyone knows, health care coverage is not one of the "perks" of a nanny job. He caused my condition, can he be ordered to carry insurance on me?

I know, for a fact, that when our divorce is final, I will lose my insurance coverage. I'm HOPING there is a way that he can be made to carry insurance on me, at least until I am able to work through the issues he's caused me. The papers fell through the crack because when I was served, I didn't know WHAT I was supposed to do, and didn't have access to an attorney at the time. HE realized that he didn't like the fact that the papers he filed gave me sole custody... so he let them lapse so he could refile the way he wants.

I think you are jumping ahead of yourself. Relax and enjoy that you currently have insurance and that he is paying your child support. Deal with it when and IF it even happens. Why did you two let the divorce paper work fall through the cracks? Try and talk rationally to him to keep him positive. Take care of yourself and don't be paranoid.
