I need some answers about annulments, please!

In NC, are annulments legal or just plain hard to get granted? Does anyone know? This is the situation....I broke up with my boyfriend right before he was going to propose, but I didn't know it. Why I broke up with him had nothing to do with him or how I felt. He was crushed, he said, and started to date this other woman. They went away for the weekend, got intoxicated, and decided to get married that weekend. He realized right away he'd made a mistake and they have never lived together at all. He and I resumed our relationship and worked out all the things that were going on. We now want to get married, but if an annulment is out of the question, we will have to wait for the one year and 31 days time period before he can get a divorce from her. I am just trying to figure out if there is anything we can do about this situation or just wait it out.
