Question on Divorce Care program

I have been considering joining the local Divorce Care group at the local church. Has anyone been through this program and if so what did you think?

Brunho:  Let me add my two cents worth.  Go to it.  It helped me immensely.   I have recommended it to several people on this website as well.  You can share however much you want or however little you want.  It was great.  Go for it.

I started to go through it, but my school schedule prevents me from making the meetings.  I plan on starting back after this semester.  I started attending the church that has the group I am a member of.  I love the church!

I went thru it this past spring and I am thinking of going thru it again becuz they said going thru it a second time you usually see it in another point of view.  Becuz the first time I went, the hurt and pain was so fresh from my divorce and now that I have been divorced for awhile I may see the program with a different point of view.  I found the program very helpful to me and the hurt I was going thru and also I could see that there are other people out there going thru the same thing I am and that all my feelings about this are normal.  So I think it would be a good thing for you to go thru this.  Keep us updated on what you think about the program.

The divorce care I went to was very religion centered if you are religious I think it will help.

I've gone a few times, but got in toward the end of the program, there's one more meeting next week, then it starts back up in March, I'm glad I went and am looking forward to starting from the beginning, everyone is really supportive and knows what you're talking about because they've been there! They said many people do it more than one time, everytime got get more out of it. What was really nice was that they could see a change in me since the first time I went, they could see more of the "real me"...go sign up!

I think any opportunity to be surrounded by people who are going through the same thing and those who are a few steps ahead of you in the process is a good opporunity to gain support, insight, and get some practical advice.   Its healthy and will help lighten the load.

It will also give you a chance to share your experience and advice to help others which also is a healthy thing.   Its nice to be able to measure your progress and growth too.

I wish you the best.   This sounds like a nice thing you're doing for yourself.   I hope it makes a positive difference.

I went through the church also for divorce care, it did help and as rogerone stated you meet people going through the same thing it helps to talk to them.

I went through it 4 times. Each time I learned something new. I think it helps to go through it again because the first time you can miss a lot. The second time around I got much more out of it. But everyone is different so once might be enough.

It's not heavy on religion and you will support and be supported by people who are going through some of the same things. I did Divorce Care a counsleor and D360 and all if it together has been very good for me.

You can make some great friends while you are there.

I just signed up for the program, it starts on the 21st. I was a bit scared, but now am looking forward to it as some have made comments about how it has helped them... This sight has helped me so much, but I can use some time with people outside of home, so going to give it a go!

Hey Bruno i have not read your story, but I have been to divorce care and it was very helpful for me, kind of like this site except live people. I would really recommend it you get to meet people who are going trough the same things as we are.
