What did you do on your anniversary?

In Feb., less than a month before the divorce is final, I will have my 18 year anniversary. I tell myself that it was over the moment he told me he loved someone else but I know that day is going to be really hard for me. What did you do when yours came around to make it better? DId you go out? Stay home? Have a good cry? Get drunk? Did it help? I am open to ideas, because I think it will be the hardest date out of all of them for me to get through.

Wow... I don't even want to think about that.  I'm still very emotional about it right now so I'm glad I've got till next summer to worry about it.  Hopefully by then I'll have moved on too... she sure didn't have any problem with that....

Well now, interesting you should ask.  For me, it was November 23rd.

I had a couple of friends over, barbequed, and we made a fair amount of Bacardi Lemon rum disappear.

November 24th came much too soon, but it was good to see November 23rd out the door....  Something tells me angielou will be working at Hallmarks new "Edgy" division sometime soon- lol.

Hi MP, I had my 20th Anniversary last month, and though I didn't talk or see him at all that day, I did celebrate it. I'm not ashamed of having been married 20 years, and am proud of the fact that I was faithful to my vows. My day was spent pampering me,... spa treatments and manicures, And with the 'Divorce diet' having lost almost 30lbs. used his credit card at Victoria's Secret! Go enjoy yourself!cmd

I love the card idea.  Too bad they wouldn't find the humor in it.  My anniversary was back in October.  I went the drinking route, and stayed away from the phone so that I wouldn't call him or his little whore.  This year, my anniversary was sweetest day, which ironically, is the day we got married 18 years ago.  I was pretty bummed at first, all of my friends were going out with their spouses, etc.  I did indulge myself a bit, went to a purse party and bought two new ones.

Yeah...that day really sucked for me.  Hurt not to talk with her, but it would also have hurt to talk with her.

I went with getting drunk.  I don't think that helped, but I also don't think it hurt, or at least not much.

Wish I had better ideas for you.
