my son has deployed
i got the call i have been dreading for months this morning at 6:30am. my son arrived in kwait. he is in processing in the stageing area waiting to go in country to iraq. as most of you know he volunteered to return to iraq a year early because of my divorce situation. he is trying to help me financially. he is paying for my husbands decisions and stepping up to take care of me. i love him and am so afraid. this is his thrid tour of duty. please keep him in your prayers. he is with the 168th MP Battiltion from Tenn. if you hear anything about this group please let me know as i might miss something. esp if you are in the tenn area and this might be local news for you. please, please pray for him and all the soldiers.

That makes me proud to wear the uniform when I hear things like this. You have definitely raised a fine young man. Your son was already in my prayers and will continue to be. I am military and my stbx is retired military. I think it is harder to be the one back here worrying than to be the one there. (just from my perspective). Make sure he gets good care packages and letters. Email is great but Soldiers love to get mail.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your son, and I must say he's a very courageous young man and I'm sure you are VERY proud of him, just as I am proud that he's serving his country and protecting our country's freedom over here by going to Iraq!! We need to thank everyone in the military for the sacrifices they make every day to protect us and our freedom over here that's for sure. My cousin's husband is in the Marine Corps and he is stationed in Quantico, Virginia right now, he served one tour in Iraq and saw more than he wanted to see over there, he saw some friends get injured and some even get killed, but he came back a strong, brave, man and I'm very proud of him and what he represents. He also served over in Afghanastan (sp?) on a ship for about 6 -7 months, and he recently resigned for more time with the Marine Corps becuz this is what he wants to do. He just got promoted recently and will find out if he will be able to go and take Officers training and become an Officer which is what he would like to do at this point in time. He has made so many sacrifices to be in the Marine Corp and be away from his wife and two kids, but this is what he loves to do!! I have to admire the people in the military and my thoughts and prayers will definitely be with you and your son!! What a courageous young man he is!!
