dropped my brownie in the sink and ate it anyway

is that gross?

it's just that i'm back on nutrisystem and determined not to cheat and i did so well yesterday and then it was time for the brownie and i was so excited and sort of attacked the package to get it open and it sort of fell, plop, into the sink.

i just looked at it.  it was a long look.  way over the three second rule.

i thought, oh well...no snack tonight...man up..you can suffer one night without chocolate.

then the next thought hit me....good grief, so what, it's the sink. you clean your sink (i'm sure i have at least once, right?)  eat the stupid brownie.  it's full of preservatives anyway.  germs couldn't break thru them.  eat it, eat it,eat it already!

so i did.

for the rest of the night i waited for some sign that i had contracted some vile disease.

nothing happened.

i figure i'm in the clear now...it's been over 12 hours, right?  good to go?

Ever see the Seinfeld episode where George picks a perfectly good looking eclair out of the trash while at a date's parents' house, and they catch him shoving it into his mouth?

if nobody sees you doing it, you won't get sick!

"...dropped..." - Five second rule does not apply; and, fortunately, it was the sink and not a procelain bowl half-full of water...! ;-)

LMAO...I would have eaten it too. Its kinda like the pancake I over cooked while reheating it. It grossed me out but I ate it anyway:) Its funny what you do when you're dieting.

I ate a hotdog once at one of my kids' games that my son neglected to tell me he dropped on the bleacher floor at one point on the walk back from the refreshment stand...

now if I didn't die from that, I think you will survive your brownie a la moen.

People have done grosser things. Nothing beats turning your head just in time to see one of your kids eating something they just picked off their bodies.

Gross, I know. They make you so proud...

No dice Paula.  Ebola has an incubation period ranging anywhere from 2 to days to 3 weeks.  I'd get my butt to a CDC isolation ward now if I were you, especially if your kitchen sink has taken any recent trips to the Congo.

I think you're fine...I've heard others talk about eating from the trash can. The sink has to be cleaner than the trash bin, right?
