Benefits of Trial Separation

Has anyone done it? Was it worth it? What did you learn? What are the statistics of divorce after separation? I know a couple that separated, the woman wanted out of the marriage, and after 5 months, she begged him to reconcile, and they did. Now they're better than ever, or so they say.

Sheri's right. It can work. It's a way to reset the system. It gives you a break, and helps you see your true feelings. It's definitely something worth talking over.

I have friends who did the same exact thing. Split up and went to counseling and got back together. One couple even dated other people....and still got back together again. I also know someone who is living in trial separation world...it's been maybe 3 years and they're not divorced, not together, in limbo. I think if you want to make it work, this is a good suggestion. As long as you both feel that way.
