My work ran late tonight. It seems like I'm always rushed. I'd hoped to have the fajitas tonight too, but that didn't happen, instead I had the pizza.
That got me thinking. It's not that different than how things were before I started the NutriSystem diet. Before, I'd plan a meal, get behind and go "Oh, I don't want to go to the effort to cook that." And probably order pizza.
You know what the difference is now? Now when I make something quick, it's on the diet plan. My little pizza took 1 minute to cook, and I spent a few extra minutes chopping vegetables for my salad. Before, I'd have waited 45 minutes for delivery.
Now I'm not saying that this pizza is anywhere near the quality of pizza's I've ordered before, nor nearly as filled with toppings, but honestly, when I ordered them before, that wasn't important. What was important, was something quick I didn't need to cook. They could have delivered tomato sauce on a Ritz, and I'd have gone, "Thanks!" and tipped well.
Before, there was guilt. No there's none. I'm eating NutriSystem quick, but I'm eating on Rob's schedule. What's more, it still tastes good, and yeah sure, it's healthy too.
I would like to comment on the Pizza though. Because I like it quick, I've been microwaving most of my meals. For the thin crust pizza, that wasn't bad. For the Thick crust pizza, microwaving isn't a good idea.
Have you ever microwaved rolls? Yeah, that doesn't work for the thick crust pizza either. Use a real oven or a toaster oven if you have one. You'll be happy you took the extra time.
