The scale moved!!

After 10 days, I am down 7/12 pounds. It went down 2.2 but I have to take into consideration the ½ pound I gained. At any rate, it made me smile this morning. I think the toughest thing about this diet is what I have to contend with at work. Like a non smoker walking into a room of smokers, you don’t realize how much other people are eating until you can’t eat it. No wonder so many people at my work are plump. They eat nothing but junk 5 days a week. My will power surprises me but I think a lot of it has to do with the way I feel. That being said, I tried the teriyaki meat and rice last night. A bit watery for my liking and they only give you a spoon full of rice. Not nearly enough to soak up all the juices. It didn’t taste bad; there was just too much liquid and not enough substance. I’m trying the Carmel popcorn today. I wonder if it will taste anything like the real thing. I will let you know!

Lori - get rid of your scale, seriously, you are becoming a slave to it.

Stressing over pounds NOT lost can impact your weight negatively -

Don't worry about where you are at until you find that clothes don't fit you the same. THEN you look at the scale.

Even on the Biggest Loser they are only allowed to weigh themselves weekly - there is a reason for that.

Thank you Freedom, that was awesome words of encouragement. It is very tough but the fact that I feel better helps, I think. I just cant get over the portions people eat. If I spread my stuff out over the day to where I am eating a little bit every 2 to 3 hours, I am fine. I cant stay off that scale though. I guess I better get use to a 1/2 pound here and there:) You're right though Robert, the late night is a bit tough. Did you know we could have jello with fat free whip cream? Its like a freebee...no real calorie thing. I mean, it has calories but it doesnt count in our calculations. They eat that on the Biggest Loser too. Im going to the store!!

Great job!! I know it's so hard to lose weight when there are so many temptations around you at work at home and when you go out to eat to.  Especially when you go out to eat--because the portions are so huge and they wonder why Americans are so overweight!!  Helloooo look at the portions.  You have a lot of will power and can't get down on yourself for gaining 1/2 pound, because that's not bad believe me.  My mom was on weight watchers for a year and lost over 100 lbs!!!  Talk about an accomplishment and we were all so very proud of her and she was proud of herself.  And all these years later she has kept it off really well!!  I actually don't know how she does it because she's a wonderful cook and baker to!! :)  But you should be proud and don't get upset over gaining a little here and there, because my doctor told me that during the month a woman's body weight fluctuates so much up and down due to water retention and all that.  So be proud of your accomplishment!!! Great job!! :)

I was thinking about that today, cuz even when you go to a restaurant, the portions are so huge compared to what we're eating now.  I look at my dinner and think "Huh, I used to have a "Double Ultimate Cheese Burger and large fries..."

And yet, I'm not hungry usually.  I have noticed that my pre-dinner snack leaves me a little hungry, and I'm also kinda hungry late at night, but that's when I used to snack.

i think this is one of the biggest thing nutrisystem shows you....how people eat...how you eat.  it's amazing how much we all usually eat.
