Im frustrated
I havent lost anything in 2 days, I actually went up 1/2 pound and I dont know why. Im not doing anything different and Im really frustrated. I know dropping weight daily was going to be too good to be true. I have to consider the time of the month though, at least thats what Im guessing. I could be retaining more water in preparation for THAT time of the month. OK...no pity party for me today, lets move on. I tried something new last night. I forget what they called it but it had potato wedges. It almost brought tears to my eyes...it seems like forever since Ive eaten a potato, even though its only been a week and a half. I have to admit...I got a little misty. I didnt realize how much I missed them. It was the best dinner Ive had so far. I want to say it was like pot roast and ptotato wedges, something like that. Anyway, it was very tasty. Im going to continue to do what I do in hopes that the scale will continue what its supposed to do. Its too early to plateau but maybe my body is going on strike. God I hope not!!

Is it possible to throw it away? I had to lock mine up for a time, because, I also was obsessed by it. Eventually I got myself to a point where I could weigh monthly and not feel beholden to the number on the dial. It was just to check in. The only reason I'm weighing myself weekly now is for the benefit of this group. I fear going back to being a slave to the scale -- it's no fun.
Try to break away from the habit. Trust me, you'll be happier for it.

The easiest way to ease your frustration is to stay off the scale! Seriously, nobody should weigh themselves daily -- because as you've experienced, it leads to frustration when the body naturally shifts its water balance. Once a week is more than enough to keep you aware of the changes in your body and offers a more reliable figure. Monthly is best, but it's hard for some people -- especially women -- to stay on track if they don't know which direction the scale is headed.
Good luck!

I used to lift weights at a gym. I did that for 4 years. You will lose a lot of weight the first week or so. Mostly excess water.
Then the weight loss should slow down. If you are doing any physical exercise at all remember that muscle will weigh more than fat. It's not unusual to gain a little weight as fat changes over to muscle.
Concentrate more on how you feel and how your clothes fit than the number on a scale.
