Legal question in PA

I have a legal question I hope someone can help I live in PA and was involved in a car accident and was hurt I have a lawsuit and will receive a settlement for pain & suffering and for future earnings , my question is will my stbx be entitle to any of my settlement ( he works, has lots of assets, makes 4 times more then I do etc. etc) , this will be the only money I have to support myself later in life when I can't work any more , how will this effect me ? Please help , Thanks so much !

it's yours - once you get it put it in a seperate account and do not pay any joint marital debt with it.

 

If he makes that much more than you - you should be requesting spousal support.

if you have started the process, with filing papers, i believe any settlement is yours.  have you started?
