Court appearance

My wife and I are scheduled to meet in court for divorce proceedings.I don't want this divorce but it will eventually happen..What happens if I don't show up the first time.

I'm assuming she filed and you are the respondent. Aside from not wanting the divorce at all, are you OK with what she has proposed? If so, don't bother going. It'll be uncontested and you're done (at least that's the way I believe it is in CA).

But if you aren't OK with what she's proposing, you'd better be there and try to get it modified into something acceptable to both of you. If you're a "no show", you're giving tacit approval to her proposal.
