trapped

My husband and i have been together for over two years. We've only been married for a year. He wasnt a u.s citizen we decided to get married and now that things are going down hill for some time now. I feel trapped like i cant get out of this without ruining his chances to be a u.s citizen. I married him for all the right reason now i dont know what to do? I want a divorse but he's in the middle of becoming a u.s citizen. How do i get a divorse from someone who has a green card? why should i feel like im beholden to him just because he wasnt born in the usa.

that isn't really a legal question - it is more a matter of your own heart and head - you are the one that has to make the choice. If you are unhappy, you have the right to end things - he can speak to immigration to see what he has to do to be able to continue his process to become legal - they have exceptions for divorce he may be eligible for.
