i had to rewrite a comment to trisha9054, you aked me what wife did I think i was? Well i am the first wife and he had never been married before marrying me. He used his real or legal name at birth, seeing as he immigrated here from overseas, and I maried him under his birth name, Now the interesting part is, that he came to america and change his name to his mothers surname. I have the documents of proof. Yet I do know that he has married this other lady in the second last name he took on here in the states. So this is where the concerns come in. She married him in the late 90's, after he left and in another state. remember i said ive been married sine 1989. Yet he never filed or got a divorce from me. He saught me and his son  out about sveral years ago, and this is how this knowlegde has come about about him and he never told that lady that he was married to me and told her I was his girlfriend. His family was aware and said at the time of his marriage, they questioned him about having gotten a divorce from me, He said he thought that we were divorced. And i informed him that i never filed for divorce. Which means we are still married, unless since his time of seeking his son and I  out, he has gotten a divorce, Which leads to  second question in mind. How do I find out if he has since then divorced me?

i know i am the legal wife for i marrid himin 89 and the othr was married soetie during our separation in the late 90's, i knwow he and i know e nd she are toether ast present. The other reason is he immigrated here many years before i met him asnd he and i married in his actual birth name, that of which i have proof and she and he are married in another surname he adopted upon immigrating here and at the time when commputers weren't in existence and thngs of this nature couldn't be tracked down.

divinity, I read your story. If you are the legal wife you are entitled to all benefits. You need to see an atty. to find out how to straighten this out.
My ex comitted bigamy to but I will be receiving SS and retirement benefits because I was his legal wife. Can you give more explanation please on which wife you think you are.
