credit

I was wondering what my responsibility will be for bills he is accumulating until the divorce is final.  He has credit cards I did not know about and refuses to close them until it is final.  He has a history of bad credit from not paying bills and that is my fear he won't pay bills I am not aware of and my credit will be harmed.  What action can I take?

absolutely positively refuse to sign any divorce setttlement unless it is strictly specified that his credit card debt (and I don't mean you wrote it up generally, I mean you LIST every account with numbers and est balances) are his SOLE responsibility.

have you started the process and have temp orders yet?  once you file, that day, his debt is his...and your's yours.  unless, you have shared accounts.  get your name off his accounts today!  right this second.  he may never pay, but your name will go along for that credit ride.  you can contact the companies directly, or use a credit counseling non profit company to help you.
