Legal Zoom.com... has anybody ever tried it, is it worth it?

Hey, I was curious... Has anybody tried using those online legal services (like Legalzoom.com) to get their divorces? I mean, I'm pretty broke and wondered if they are any good or worth the money.

A friend at work used Legal Zoom for her second divorce. She said that it was quick and relatively easy. I think that you end up doing a lot of leg work to file the paperwork. If you are willing to run around it might be a good way to go. I am considering it myself, since I am broke too! We actually went to a mediator for a free consultation and the woman started talking about how we would have to go over our bank accounts and assets, and all I could think was "Um yeah, I can tell you I have maybe $20 in the bank now..." Its tough because you don't want to wait. And if you think the other person may contest the divorce, then you should get yourself a lawyer.

my buddy used it - said it was "the best part of the divorce."
Ok, I get that that is faint praise indeed, but still, it is praise!

I did not use it for a divorce but I used them to start my business. They were very helpful and was pleased. I'm sorry that you are going through this now. We wish you luck. This community on d360 is so supportive and it's very resourceful. Hang in there, OK?!?!?! : )
