Passing on a quote about forgiveness

This past New Year's I decided to forgive and move on, much easier to say than do but wanted to put my best foot forward. I hated feeling like a bitter and scorned woman. A friend of mine who had also gone through a divorce sent me this quote...I really liked it and thought I would share with all of you.                                                                                    "Forgiveness is critical to a healthy life.  By holding onto an injury, we are hoping for a better past which will never happen. Forgiveness recognizes that we were unjustly treated and that it will not be corrected. Forgiveness does not condone the injustice.  It is a decision not to let the injustice control my life any longer."

I totally agree with you.  I also do not want to be a Bitter & Scorned Woman. There's is a reason why we are going thru this and in time we will heal and be better people from it.  I will never forget the hurt I felt or still feel, but I will not let it define me. My STBX already took enough, I refuse to allow him any more of me.  Thanks for your quote and lets stay strong.

I agree with duchick.  I will say the quote is right, but actually carrying that one out is a toughie.  I also know it would be easier on my son, but here he is over there with his dad (& his girlfriend) and I want to scream........!!! (it's midnight)

Thanks for passing this on.  You're right, it's easier to say than do.  But I am trying too.
