Property and debts

So, if he has a right to co-mingled property (house bought by me prior to the marriage), does he have a "right" to some of the debts "we" created?  If that is so, and I don't know if that is a legal argument, then he will wish he never tried to fight me over property.  See, I told him that altho I was suing him for divorce, if he would agree to signing the papers for the attorney to file, he could keep all that he had and obtained, and that I would pay the attorney with retainer fees.  I would help him find and furnish an apartment or house and each of us would be responsible for the bills in our individual names.  I would assume all bills in my name!  He helped create my debt-I just wanted a divorce-nothing else.  Now what?
