How can you trust again? Is it possible?

How, when do you decide it's time for a divorce? How do you get over the guilt?

Yes you can forgive, if you guys still love each other...we are all human and forgiveness is a big part of our lifes anyways he is your husband the father of your children so try everything everything before you give up
think about your relationship as an emergency in the er room of a hospital..you are the doctor and the patient is going into shock what do you do....you try everything to help him survive right??? you don't let your patient die...so that's exactly what you should do....try try try...your heart will tell you when to stop....you'll know....

I'm positive it's possible to trust again but both parties have to be willing to do the work to make it happen. Both have to be willing to change behaviours otherwise the relationship will fail. I wish you well.

If you are not happy you need to make a change. Try living apart for awhile to see if you two miss each other. If the love is gone and you have tried counseling then make the step. This is your life, make the best of it.

Oh, I have to add something else: I realized after I got my divorce that I don't have time for any guilt. I don't have any. I realized that my staying in the marriage was setting the wrong example for my kids. They would go on to perpetuate our marital example in their lives. And, the example my ex and I set was NOT a healthy relationship. Set your guilt freee!

Only you will know when you can and cant take anymore. I lived with a spouse who threatened me for YEARS with a divorce: "you'll never get the kids, I'll leave you with nothing, we will sell the house, etc." I always thought I was staying in the marriage for the kids and doing the right thing. I consulted my mother who was my rock and support. She was never judgmental and allowed me to make my own conclusion about what I should do. When I came home from my mother's funeral, my ex threatened me with a divorce. Guess what!? I said yes. He's still in shock. And, I'm SO MUCH BETTER FOR IT!!! It takes time to get a healthy perspective. If you are in an unhealthy relationship, it's hard to see things clearly. Get to a counselor. You may be able to more clearly figure out what your choices are. Or, perhaps you will be given that impossible situation that I was given by my ex!

Trust is a big issue. It's hard. All of this takes time. It's good that you are talking about it. I think that the decision to divorce can be really hard or really obvious. if you don't trust, maybe you have your answer. Do you think you could try counseling to see if you could start over?

What do you feel guilty about exactly? If you didn't do anything wrong, you shouldn't be guilty.

I'd add something, but Lori's right. You need to make sure; that will help with the guilt. Other than that, only time and friends will help. Take your time, exhaust all options: this is a big decision.

There are no guidelines that state when you should file for divorce. Thats a personal decision you make. Are you unhappy?? Is there hope for this relationship or are you done?? If so, its time to contact a paralegal and take the next step. If you're not sure about your feelings, I would consider a little time apart or maybe seeing a counselor to help you sort thru your feelings. Just take it one day at a time but think everything thru thoroughly before you move forward. You wouldnt want to have any regrets later.
