what is it and how long does it last?

I believe this is support for a spouse who needs help getting on their feet to support themselves.....example is if a husband worked and the wife stayed at home and did not have a job....obviously she can not support herself right off the bat when a divorce occurs.  The amount of support and length of support depends on your situation, length of marriage, etc......consult an attorney.
