Really need legal advice on this asap! Or just advice....
I'm trying to decide...... Stbx wanted to sit down and revise the divorce so that we could sell the house. We sat down and talked and I see his point and he seemed reasonable. The house is in the mothers name but we have lived here for maybe 8 years. If we divorce the sisters will come in and tell the mother to sell. Split the money with the mother. Neither me or the stbx will get what we have into it. I having the most to lose. I have filed for divorce a month ago. Now he wants me to do away with that and file a revised divorce. He would sign it, I could have the divorce, and file it at anytime, but, he wants me not to file it till after the house is sold. And not to let the rest of his family know about it so they cant put a stop to the sale of the house. That way I would have the money I had put into it and his mother would get her share. If the rest of the family thought that we were moving off to maybe work things out they wouldn't think much to that. But he said that I could take the divorce to the court house and file the revised version at anytime and it would be legal the next day. Can anyone tell me is this right? Is it legal? I really need advice on this.....I live in Texas.
