Letting Go

This seemed to make a lot of sense to me. Read on and see how it sinks in for you. "It has been said that ‘’learning to live is learning to let go”, for nothing in life is permanent, and eventually we have to let go of each and every thing that enters our lives, including ourselves. Life can be a difficult struggle because our minds become preoccupied with desired outcomes relative to people, places and things. Rather than enjoying the freedom within change and the new doors that are trying to open for us, we stare at the closed doors long after they are in fact CLOSED."

There is an entire article on this I posted here - http://lostlife2008.blogspot.com/  Kind of "new age" but it really helped me out.

It's true.  We're selfish by nature.  We like to hang on to things.  Whether they're emotional, or tangible, We keep what we want tight.  The reality is, nothing is really ours.  It's all on loan. When something is taken away, we throw tantrums. What we should do is move along and find a way to give freely from ourselves.

Good discovery Desmo.

I think this is something everyone should understand.  To take it a step further, someone told me not long ago that forgiveness is a gift you give yourself, not someone else.  I think that is part of the process of letting go, of moving on.  If you stare at that closed door too long, you will forget that just over your shoulder is a who new world waiting for you.

And never give up on the existence of someone else out there who will love you as you should be loved.

Thanks for sharing this, I've copied and pasted it for myself already.

Very well said.  And when you let go, keep your focus on the future.  Nothing will keep you from moving forward positively like "looking in the rear view mirror".

I think you're right. And I think we need to focus on the good stuff. I made a journal and wrote down 10 things each day I was grateful for. At first, it was hard. Then it became easier over time. It really made me focus on the good stuff in my world.
