Gorf is right.  only you know for sure what your husband is capable of.  if he has ever been abusive before....you need to take his threats seriously.

Your husband is hurt and is feeling betrayed. I know I was there. If you don't love your husband anymore first get a divorce and then find a new love, not the other way around. You loved your husband before, do this the right way. Tell him you broke it off, and then tell him you want a divorce. If you and this other guy really love each other he can wait. Your husband is just hurting.

PS.

This is of course your husband has not every hit you or hurt you in the past. If this is the case I would leave and stay with friends or family but leave the other guy alone utile this is done, its only fare.
