My husband refuses to maintain our mortgage

My husband has asked me for a divorce a couple weeks ago. I am a stay-at-home mom with 2 kids in Texas and he is our sole income. Now he refuses to pay anything for our mortgage. I would like to keep the house because of our 2 kids. What should I do? I have started to look for jobs, but it may take a while. Thanks!

Hi Spaznskitz,

My stbx took my 8 years old with him and will not let me see him unless I give him my son's passport or he said it will be OK if we cut the passport in half. I have no clue what kind of game he is playing with me. Any advice?

Is there anyway I can find out if my husband and his girlfriend have rented the apartment together?

My husband has denied having any girlfriends at all. He only admitted he went on a date a week after he left the house. I told my attorney this and she has included the moral clause in my petition. Now, my husband has rented an apartment. So he is no longer staying with this woman. Do I need to hire an investigator for proofs of his relationship? Even I have proofs, we are separated already. Is this still adultry in the eyes of Texas law?

Thank you for helping me get into the driver seat. I love it!!!

oh you lucky woman - you are in the drivers seat now!

Texas recognizes fault divorces - and adultery is high on the list in Texas being part of the bible belt...let your attorney know this info asap. It will increase your alimony & other rights. (don't tell him that)

as for what to do - in your separation papers make sure you have a morality clause in there - no guests of the opposite sex unless related by blood or marriage during overnight visitation.

You can't control if he has them around her during the day, but you can ensure he can't have the kids if he is living with her.

I suggest you get your kids counseling, being exposed to what dad is up to is going to hurt them.
