Expecting worst Mother's Day on record!

This Sunday is Mothers Day as everyone knows.  Well my son gets to spend it with the new girlgriend which has a three year old.  I hate this!! My exhusband has planned a mini trip this weekend for Ethan to meet his new girlfriend and it will be happening over Mother's Day with MY son! And there is not a thing I can do is the sad part.  Friday and Saturday are his days and he normally has Ethan to me Sunday morning around 9 am but he stated that he will not be returning him until around 9 pm.  I just cannot believe what my relationship with my son has come to.  Any advice?

sounds good I will - Ill take a look at it and give you some better direction on modification to make it clearer for both of you. Especially if you want 50/50 to work out - he isn't starting out on the right foot with this at all  - already denying you your time for his own convenience. Don't let it become a habit & let him know that it is not acceptable nor will it be tolerated from now on.

If you want , you can email me at abuell7477@gmail.com and i will give you the outline of the agreement through emaill.  it really doesnt say too much about anything.  My attorney was not a go getter.

after a year, go in for a modification and get it more detailed.
what is your agreement about other holidays? What about if one of you wants to move? What is written about handlng disputes? Do you have a right of first refusal clause?

I do live in Florida however the agreement has nothing in it about specific holidays.  But I appreciate your help.

actually - because you and your ex agreed to 50/50 (from your other post) - it's a customized plan and anything regarding holidays, birthdays, mom/dad days etc - has to be clearly spelled out.

The state of Florida has "Standard Visitation" guidelines.  Here's the quote from it concerning Mother's day:

d.         MOTHER’S DAY: shall be spent with the mother every year with priority over any other visitation schedule; visitation hours shall be from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.

As I read this, Mother's Day trumps his standard weekend visitation.  But, then again, this is Florida.  Look and see if your state has standard visitaion guidelines.
