Removing my name from Mortgage and HELOC (Credit)

My divorce decree from back in October states that my ex-husband is to remove my name from the Suntrust Mortgage/VA Loan and from the Home Equity Line of Credit through Citibank. I have not heard anything from him so I called each companty. SunTrust said since it was a VA loan that I take care of it through the VA Office. Citi said my name cannot be removed from the HELOC unless he refinances it. He says the market is too low and he cannot refinance. How can I ensure that my name is removed from both accounts and that I am not financially responsible for either account? I had him meet me today to file a Quit Claim Deed and fill out a release from liability form for the VA Office. What else do I do? How long til I obtain a copy of the credit report with the mortgage and HELOC no longer listed in my name? Please advise.

Not sure why you filed a quit claim deed ---- now you may have given up any claim on any proceeds of the sale of the property while you are still responsible for some debt associated with the property

I have a friend who is currently going through this same situation. Get an attorney and file a contempt/enforcement proceeding. It should be relatively inexpensive.

Personally what iwould do would take him back to court and charge him with contemped because it is stated in the decree that you are no longer responsible and your name is suppose to be removed and he has not done that yet. So in no other terms he is inconptem of the courts decision
