Have you ever been homeless?

I've recently been left homeless due to the high amount of spousal support I've been saddled with.  Fortunately I still have my job, unfortunately I don't get to keep any of the money.
Have you ever been homeless for any reason?

I have been homeless twice in my life. At one point I did not even have a vehicle to sleep in.

It is neither easy nor fun, but you do what you have to in order to survive.

Survive, at all costs.

I have spent more than my share of time sleeping in a vehicle.  Luckily I have family that took me in.

I was homeless years ago before I met my wife. It was my fault and stupidity that caused it, but it was me fighting that resolved it. Being homeless is very hard. Power to those who are, they need all the power they can get.

I have spent the better part of the last five years homeless due to divorce.  I want to detail how cruel it was but every time I start to explain it, I shake so badly, I cannot continue.  (PTSD) Even in reading my dissolution decree and alleged 'settlement' one immediately sees it is wrong.  However, without a lawyer I cannot challenge it.  I hope to detail what happened and look for assistance in this matter.  I have tried all the normal methods and have been since this issue began.  The justice system is based on the ability to pay ... period.

My heart goes out to those that are and have suffered as I have.  Sincere heartfelt thoughts are appreciated when in a position like this.  However, a miracle is when someone holds their hand out and says "I will help you."

I'm curious: When spousal support was calculated, did they not take into consideration your own living expenses?

No but you should get with Drkstr.  He's homeless living in his SUV and is really in a depression over it.  He's been in your position longer and may have a few pointers on how to avoid it.

I've never been homeless, but I'm going through the process of being wifeless.

Wifeless is better.

Good luck to you, sounds like a rough time.
