Is there a soul mate waiting for you? Do you know what one would look like? Do you have doubts?

I have often wondered.... how other people perceive what a soul mate is. We hear it all the time. People looking for their soul mate. We want it, and yet how do we know if it is really something to look for? I think it's different to each individual. But I'm curious to know what others think, and how they think. Is it written somewhere of what it is meant to be?
Do you think you have a soul mate? Or is it just people running around wanting something they think they can put a name too? Maybe just to say or think they have something grand.

After being told by what I thought to be my 'sole mate' for the last 7 years, that he doesn't love me anymore and our marriage needs to "fish or cut bait"... I no longer believe in sole mates, it is a made up name for someone you happen to really click with and move forward. It is all made up like being 'happy' and living 'happily ever after'... Sorry to be the downer (bad month). I think there are people that you are supposed to have in your life to learn from. Be it married, friends, separated, divorced, family and so on. It's all about LIFE - learn, grow, teach/share.

"...position to meet..." - I am just curious as to why your "...stbx..." would look at his own image in the mirror and play God...?

I have a hard time believing that their is such thing as a soulmate. My stbx said God put him in the position to meet his soulmate while still married to me. I DO believe that God has someone prepared for me and will send me that person when He knows I am ready (which is hopefully sooner that later);).

I think that my soulmate is that person who was made specifically for me. That God made them with me in mind. They just fit so perfect. My husband is my soulmate. He reached a part of me that I didnt even know existed. We are getting a divorce now because of domestic violence and it is devastating losing my soulmate. People might say that he obviously wasnt the one for me, but I dont think God made anyone with the intention of them being abusive to their spouse. My soulmates choice and actions and inability to try to resolve it is what is breaking us apart, not because we are not meant to be together. I am really angry at my husband for taking that away from me. I will be looking for someone else in the future but I just dont know if itll ever be like it was with him.
