So he wants to change one addiction and keep the other. Is that what you want? You had pretty much made up your mind and second guessed it. I do that all the time. Back off the other friendship until you can make a decision. If you feel you can help your husband get off his addictions then continue to try. You are the one who knows him best. Will he follow thru or is he already backsliding?
You have a lot of decisions to make so don't cloud your judgement with thoughts of someone else and what might be. Make the decision you feel will be best for you.
