My attempting to be a good father and ex has bitten me in the ass.

How much trouble will I get into for my not  paying child support for he past few months.  There's a reason, my ex suggested/wanted to move out of state with the kids, I said ok and moved before they did.  After moving here I've had difficulty finding a good paying job and have to deal with seeing the kids twice in eight months.  She's starting to flake and delaying the move so I'm ready to move back so I can seemy kids all the time.  My concern is the child support-lack of for the past several months

You need to sit down and have a serious talk with your ex. See if you can work out a payment plan with her and then find a way to pay her every month. Make sure you have a receipt or candelled checks to show that you have paid the back support and are current on your payments. If you are going to follow each other around the country for the kids you need to work out a plan for the moves. Can you get your old job back?
The economy is so bad I wouldn't be jumping up to move unless I already had a job lined up.
