Been sep. 2 months and 5 year is struggling a school. Ex thinks it's a good idea to get together as a family and have dinner thinks it might help

What do you think? I don't want to give my son false hopes. What should I do about school?

Angie...Be sure to talk to your stbx, and set some ground rules about the dinner.  Don't let him use your son as a tool to get back at you, or to pressure you into doing something you don't want to do.  Make sure he agrees to make this all about your son, and not about the marriage.  And if you can't trust him to do that, then you might want to rethink the idea.

You  should do what ever it takes to help your child. Your son needs to see that both parents are there for him. Talk to him and also talk to the teachers to see what might help him with school.  I wish you all the best.
