I have found the opportunity to purchase my own home and need money fast

I can get this house, owner financing, reasonable payments but need 13,000.00 down. Asked husband to give me my half of his 401K so I could get this started and move out, as he will keep current home. We have not started divorce proceedings but know I am entitled to half his 401 and half equity in house. Am I asking too much from him? I would like to do this all thru a mediatior and keep things civil, but I'm scared to death. Any info whould be greatly appreciated.

ummmmmmmmm you don't want to purchase the house until after your divorce is final....otherwise it is his house too and the legal wranglings you have to do to get his entitlement to is is a pain in the butt, not to mention if things get ugly with your divorce - your new home ends up in jeapordy.

Ask the owners if they will do a rent with option while your divorce is in process - then negotiate your divorce settlement to reflect what you need to purchase the home.
