should i fight for what is right and fair ,,,or just forget it , cut my losses and move on

well this woman lived with me and my son and brought with her , her daughter..for 18 months and never contributed to the financial affairs at all....she has a very successful job and i live on social security because of an injury....i supported all of us for this long before i told her that i finally needed some help....half of the basic living expences were $1000.00 a month....again i say i recieved nothing for 18 months ...then she paid 500. for three months and then paid 1000.00 for two months ..out of a total of 23 months of marriage...now the legal troubles have started for her and she just says "oh well"..also we filed joint taxes for 2006 and got back 12,000.00 which i saw none of , it went right into her savings account....she said she was saving for us to be able to build a new home ...i never signed the tax returns, she forged my name and also on the check i guess...well this year we filed jointly again and only got back 1800.00 big difference and this time the check came to me ...i will split it with her because it is fair and the right thing to do...my question is , should i fight her for half of the previous years return and for back rent or just cut my losses and get out as fast as i can....and why am i so stupid and still want her back....is it pride and ego or what...and one final question , is there any true and honest woman left out there......thanks ....rick....
