Ugh!

A friend of mine has the same attorney that I do and we are both having problems with her. The attorney told a bunch of people-including my friend-that last friday was her last day of practice. Does she have to tell me she quit or find me a new attorney or what?? Help!!

she has a duty to tell you who is taking over your case

from personal experience i would not wait - call the firm now and ask them, and tell them you expect "another excellent lawyer" to replace her and get specific information on that replacement.

please: also state that you expect your currently hourly rate to continue or any increase to be explained and justified (ive had a change of lawyer and then the bill came in at $150 in ADDITION to her hourly bill) - check check check

what i would also say is you cannot afford to eff about with attorneys - there are good and bad. hey, there are good and bad checkout girls, but THEY dont determine the basis of the next 5 years+ of your life

dont leave it to chance ... be the squeaky wheel and show you mean business

divorce is SO not the time to be placid
