I don't want my kids to have overnight visitation while my ex is shacking up w/woman he cheated with.

My husband is leaving after 19 years of marriage. He has cheated on me throughout those 19 years with many different women. His latest affair has been going on for only 2 months, but he is moving straight from our house into a new place with her. I don't think it will last based on his history and statistical information. I don't want my kids to meet this woman (who is leaving her husband right now, too) or her child. I'm afraid that if they get attached to her they will have to suffer another breakup. I also don't want them sleeping at her house, because I just learned that she did not get temporary custody of her son during their divorce. I don't know why. I don't know what to do...

I just went thru this. I had to bear the fact that I and my soon to ex's 3 children would spend overnite vists w/him and the woman he left I and his kids for. In the beginning it was hard, but as my kids got to get on my nerves @ times, I started seeing it my way and as long as the mistress or whatever treated my kids right, I was fine. As my children did their visits I planned things for me to do and the thought stopped bothering me and i knw what??? My soon to ex spouse left me 5/31/08 for this other woman and they are not even together nemore. Let the cosmics work themselves out and u be more mature and cool headed, but keep your boundaries!!!!

I am going through this *exact* same thing!!!! I wish there was a way to talk privately with you. My stbx was cheating on this woman for over a year. He finally moved up there around xmas time. And guess what? Now he told me she's due to give birth to their new baby in the summer! AND he wants my 5&7 year olds in the ROOM w/her for the birth!!! I about fainted. This "woman" is married too. She basically kicked out her husband one day, and brought my husband in the next day. Disgusting. He just called me today ranting about the divorce papers. The kids have spent only 1 time there overnight. She's got two kids of their own, and they are so upset. Even my kids, they think "you move in w/ your best friend and have babies" instead of the traditional route, which is what our religion taught us. Now he's just abandoned all those things and ran off with this girl. My kids are so confused cause stbx just calles g/f his "best friend". OMG. Just so many issues. I wish I could prevent overnights too. My stbx moved 3 hours away and now he wants 50/50 custody. Well, it's not possible now my lawyer said. And he wants them all summer. He thinks he has the better "home' for them, when in fact I've been here for 2 years, with my parents. since I got sick with cancer. He never stepped in then to take them. Why now? Now he wants to fight for sole custody. I told him go ahead, he'll just upset his kids. He slaps my daughter, he calls my son "a fag" and my son hates going there. So many isses, but I know what you're going through. I don't know what to do. I left a message for lawyer today, no call back. Now I get to wait till Monday. Wonderful. You pay all this money and you never can talk to the lawyer...another issue!!!! Well, good luck with yours and let us know how it turns out. I wish I could talk to you more in depth about this.

Check with your attorney, I don't think there is much you can do, unless she is causing harm to your children. I totally understand moral values and your not sure what kind of person she is, I have been there and it was terrible. I just hope your ex is a good dad and would not let your children be around a harmful person.
