is it to late $$$

I have been seperated for 2 years. I did ot need alimony when I left. we sold the house and he gave me 31000.00 and he took 18,000.00. now I am needing help financially and would like alimony from him he wants to file for divorce and so do I. is it to late to think that the courts would grant me alimony. He rents a townhouse, I own 2 homes.

"..." - Filing for a divorce would still be in your best interest unless you would prefer to do a legal separation as an alternative. Anyway you look at this, it would be better to seek the legal guidance since there is property in the formula. And, as for the alimony (...maintenance...)...? It may prove difficult to sustain your case in court considering that you have been financially on your own for the past 2 years; although, this too, is a question for the legal experts that would be able to build your case and strategy prior to a court date. Wish you well...
