What to do?

I live in Michigan, and I have been married for 18 years. We have three children, ages 14, 10 and 6. My husband had an affair for over a year with a co-worker. This affair even went on last October/November when I had an aneurysm and was in the hospital in a coma for 18 days. I believe the affair is continuing (he still works with this woman yevery day). I have asked him to go to marriage counseling, but h e will not. Is there an advantage to being the first one to file for divorce? Please help. -K

There is no advantage to filing first. It doesn't matter. I think you know the answer to all your questions. He doesn't want to go to counseling, that should give you one answer. I'm sorry, but you deserve more than that. He sounds terrible. If I was in the hospital in a coma, I hope my husband would not be having an affair. If he did, it would be over. Look at the big picture. I know he is the father of your children, but he isn't willing to do the right thing, so you can't live the rest of your life miserable.
