Girls Weekend!

I'm so excited!  My sister and I have finalized our plans to head out next weekend for a girls weekend away, just the two of us.  She has a friend who has a beach house in Ocean City, MD, which we can have for $200 for the whole weekend!  So this will be fun AND cheap!

My sister is a good bit younger than I am - she's 28, and I'm 40.  We've always been at different stages in our lives.  But somehow, now that we are both adults, we relate much better and I don't feel as though I'm constantly having to set a good example for her.  Which is good, since I wouldn't want anyone to take me as a good example lately.  For her part, I think she is realizing that I'm actually human, with all the failings and faults of a human.  If I can get a divorce, it can happen to anyone.

So we'll have a good time, drink a little too much, maybe flirt a bit with some guys.  She's young and beautiful, guys flock to her like bees to honey.  It will be good for me to be part of this, even if I'm standing on the sidelines...kind of easing me back into the game, I suppose.  To carry the football analogy a bit further (too far?), I've had a major injury, and now I'm rehabbing, so I can't just jump back into the middle of the playoffs, but at least I can stand on the sidelines and watch the healthy players in action.

Girls Weekend!  I can't wait!

I like the bike analogy better:  get back on!  ;)

You're only as "broken" as you think you are.  $200?  That is a great deal!  Way to go and have fun!

Thanks all!  Yes, Liz, it is a bit weird having siblings that much younger - I have a brother, too, who is 8 years younger than me.  So not only am I the oldest (and trust me, all those oldest sibling stereotypes fit me to a "T"), but it's like my parents had two different families.

So yeah, I'm looking forward to it.

I have three sisters who are ten or more years older than I am.  It is so much different now that we're all adults.  I remember when our mom passed away.  After the funeral, the four of us sat up until 3am with a bottle of wine, and I got to know the sisters I never knew.

DuChick, enjoy this weekend with your little sis.  Have an awesome time, and go ahead and flirt with those guys.  What can it hurt?

Sounds Great! I can't wait for you, too!

Wish my little sis & I could do that too! (She's 25 & I'm 45(almost))

Weird having a sister that much younger isn't it?
