Which Myths Do You Believe?

A recent article in the Independent listed 7 myths of divorce.  We all have many divorce beliefs.  How many of yours fall through as myth?

Myth 1: Most men cheat on their wives.  According to the independent this is a myth.  They say that in a survey, 80 percent of the men interviewed said they never cheated on their wives.  Nobody asked how many of these men ever lied, so this myth may still be true.

Another myth is that women bitterly regret divorce. Studies show the exact opposite.  More women come out, in the long term, happier than the men. Women show an increased self image and exhibit a stronger self confidence after divorce.

Similarly, The idea that men can remarry after divorce and women can not is also a myth.  The fact is women who chose to, can and do, but more women actually choose to not remarry. Studies show that women who want to get married, like the men, usually get remarried within 3 years of the divorce.
