The New False Allegation in Child Custody 

For many years, the classic allegation by a vindictive ex when it came to child custody was "sexual abuse". Just the mere allegation sent shivers up a parent's spine and outrage at the very thought they were accused of such a horrible thing.

It was the quick and easy way for an estranged parent to get a TRO on the other one though. Accuse now, fix it later. With little to no consequence to the lying party.

Some parents even subjected their children to psychologist interrogation after a lot of coaching at home, and even worse, actual doctor examination. Most, however, when the accused parent pushed for proof - buckled and recanted the charge - but not until significant damage had been done to everyone involved.

The court system got wise to it eventually.

Unfortunately, there is a new false allegation surfacing. Apparently now, pretty much every other spouse has a drug problem, or they now live with drug users, or their family are drug users. There is no proof mind you, no convictions, no history - and it wasn't why they filed for divorce.

Once again, TRO's are getting handed out like candygrams so that a perfectly good parent can't see their child and they have to prove their innocence.

So what can you do to protect yourself?

The growing trend is to go to the doctor before the divorce attorney and have a full screen drug test done, hair, urine & blood. The certified results are then attached to the initial paperwork as an incentive to gain temporary custody of the children, or ensure ample visitation time, and to ward off false claims.

The sad part about this new trend, is that eventually, it is going to get harder for the parents who truly have a spouse with a drug issue, to keep their child out of harms way.
