Happy 20th Anniversary Soon to be Ex Husband

I certainly thought we would be celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary this April 9th with something a little more commemorative than a divorce.  Hopefully, it won't be as hard as Christmas, Valentines Day, etc.  I'm actually optimistic about the divorce & getting on with my life without him.  Honest!  I feel compelled to have a dozen black roses delivered to him that day.  Or perhaps I'll schedule a portrait session...just me & the kids without him in the picture.

On another note.  Our pretrial is scheduled for April 8th.  Nice timing eh?  I got a call from my attorney.  We got a response from opposing counsel for our pretrial statement.  He actually wants child support from me!  ROFLMAO!  Does he think the judge just fell off the turnip truck?  I made $11K last year...he made $110K.  You tell me who gets to pay child support.

He even had the audacity to ask me who was going to foot the bill for doggy care & maintenance.  Its his dog for pete's sake.  I won't even be able to keep the dog since I'll be moving into a rental.  Is it really all about the money for men going through a divorce?

I'm trying to keep it all in perspective.  I know he is afraid.  I am too.  I would have to agree...the lonliness is the worst part.  Even money can't solve that problem!

I have to tell you it's not all about the money.  However, that is what most men think about at a time like this because they can't come face-to-face with their emotions.  Men have a hard time dealing with their emotions by themselves, let alone they be waved around like yesterday's laundry in the breeze.  I know... I'm a man too.  Yes, I think about money, because that's what men are "supposed to think about" I think.  I am at the point of trying to decide on getting a divorce or not... and I have to tell you, yes, I have thought about money, but the biggest thing I think about is sitting alone in an apartment someplace, without even the nagging to keep me company.  THAT is the hardest part of this process.
