Will you be watching these Single Mom reality shows....or boycotting them?

I’m not one to get too snooty — especially when it comes to other single moms — but I can’t keep my mouth shut. I’m grateful that throughout most of our country, single moms are no longer stigmatized. But two celebrity single moms are getting out of control. Do you agree?

If you haven’t heard about the premieres of Denise Richards’ and Dina Lohan’s reality shows, I write about them today at BabyCenter.com.

Richards’ show will be following her daughters — whom she had Charlie Sheen, who lost a court battle to cancel the show — Sam and Lola. The girls are just three and two years old.

Denise, if the cameras are filming the girls for just a minute — when they’re, say, mashing play dough in the kitchen — I can handle that. But if you let the crew follow your girls 24/7 — through morning cuddles and bedtime stories with you — I’m going to get mad.

Now, Dina Lohan — the single mother of Lindsay — is set to debut her own reality show.

Dina told MSNBC that she “hopes the series will serve as an example to other single working moms.” She goes on to say that she hopes her show will empower “women to be successful single mothers.”

Dina will let the cameras go inside her Long Island home, where she manages her younger daughter Ali’s singing/acting career. Brothers Cody and Michael will be filmed, too.

Dina, if you want to be a successful single mom, maybe you should invite Lindsay out for some private, mother-daughter time? I don’t mean to sound condescending, I’m worried.

Do you think these single moms are going overboard? Is this really about the next paycheck?

Will you be tuning in? Just out of curiosity?

I am with you Krislyn. I would love to see a show that gives a realistic view of being a single parent.

Uh no. I won't. Neither one of these mothers are what I would call role models for anyone. Or even a typical single mom. Let me see a woman balancing two jobs, and angry interfering ex, two grumpy children and bills that are stacking up because the louse you were married to refuses to send you any money.

Give me a break.
