Denise Richards Gets Her Old Name Back

According to court papers, Denise Richards has successfully petitioned a Los Angeles court to officially change her legal name.

The actress officially took the last name of Sheen during her marriage to actor Charlie Sheen. Although their divorce ended eons ago – November 2006 – she hadn’t officially changed her name back to Richards until March 21, 2008.

Are you surprised that she took his name to begin with? (I am!). It seems like actresses usually keep their own name – their “brand,” so to speak.

Maybe she’s really an old-fashioned girl at heart, or maybe she did it to have continuity, so the mom, dad and kids would all have the same last name.
