Prenuptial
agreements are fairly common these days, especially when there’s a
lot of money involved. For celebrities with traditionally short-lived marriages, it’s practically unheard of to wed without some sort of prenup in place.
But some of the terms in these agreements
can get pretty interesting. Here are a few, as reported in recent Newsday and Chicago
Sun-Times stories:
- The right to perform
random drug tests. Financial penalties will be incurred if the results are
positive.
- Husband shall not
watch more than one football game on Sundays during football season.
- Husband will not be
required to go on vacation with his mother-in-law.
- A claim on all
frequent-flier miles should the spouse be unfaithful.
- A bonus of $100,000
each time the spouse is unfaithful.
- Wife's weight shall be limited to 120 pounds; otherwise, she'll be forced to relinquish $100,000 of her separate property.
Geesh. Talk about an incentive to maintain your weight...or not...I think the worry of gaining weight would send me into a stress-eating spin.
