Should I Stay or Should I Go (California or Washington)? Help me decide.

I am living in Los Angeles California right now and you can help me decide if I should travel back to Washington.

I been in LA from July 1, 2007 and living in Seattle Washington area before this date. The problem is that I am going thru a separation and my kids are in Walla Walla Washington.

I can move back to be closer to my kids or stay far away. The Answer would be yes move back to see your kids.  There are several reasons why I cannot move back.

Reasons for California:

1.       My Job transfers me to California from Washington as an Emergency Transfer do to wife abuse at work. My job will not transfer me back.

2.       I have Family in California and not in Washington State so I have no place to live if  I move back.

3.       I would have to get a new job and try to live on 500-800 a month living in Seattle.

4.       I would have to deal with x-wife and her relative that does not want me to have contact with my kids.

Reasons for Washington:

1.       Have been living there for 15 years and know a lot of friends because of the time I spent in college and work.

2.       Will be able to have possible joint custody with my kids so they can see me often.

3.       Have difficult filing for divorce if I do not live in WA.

4.       If I do not move back I will not see my kids except once a year. Until this point it’s been a year and a half and it will probably be 2 or more years until I see my kids. Reason is that I have canceled my divorce because I could not afford it. Waiting for X-wife to file, if she does not file I do not see my kids because she is limiting communication other that letters.

Most decisions can be made with a group of people coming together and imputing ideas. If you have any thought about this give me some feedback.

You only need to be a resident in CA. for 6 months to file for divorce. I came to CA. from MI. and that is what I found out for myself to be able to file. I don't understand why she is able to limit your communication, at least legally. If she stops communication now, what makes you think she will not keep you from seeing them if you move there? You need to decide whats best for you in the end.
