WAS IT THE RIGHT THING TO DO

ME AND MY HUSBAND WERE TOGETHER FOR 10YRS MARRIED FOR 5 WE HAVE 7 KIDS TOGETHER IAM A FULL TIME NURSE AND HOUSEWIFE. WE STARTED HAVIN FINANCIAL PROBLEMS 2 YEARS AGO I FELT LIKE HE WASNT CONTRIBUTING ENOUGH TO HELP OUT WE HAD A BIG ARGUEMENT ABOUT THE PEOPLE THAT HE HANGS OUT WITH. I HAPPEN TO DISLIKE ALL OR THE MAJORITY OF HIS FRIENDS,ANYWAYS HE WASNT FOCUSED ON HIS RESPONSIBILTIES IN LIFE MAKING BAD CHOICES WITH THE WRONG PEOPLE. HE HAD GOT INTO TROUBLE WITH THE LAW FOR DRIVN ON A RESTRICTED LISCENSE TO WORK A COUPLE OF TIMES SO HE WAS ON PROBATION FOR AYEAR. HE HAD TO TAKE CLASSES AND ALL ANYWAY HE VIOLATED PROBATION BY NOT ATTENDN CLASSES AND SEEEING PAROLE OFFICER BUT HE WORKED OUT OF TOWN MOST OF TIME SO IT WAS HARD TO CATCH UP WITH HIM ONE NIGHT AFTER A STEAMY ARGUEMENT ABOUT MONEY IASKED HIM TO LEAVE. WE WERE SEPERATED FOR A MONTH AND I FOUND OUT HE WAS WITH ANOTHER WOMAN THAT SOON I WAS SO OUTRAGED THAT I CALLED HIS PAROLE OFFICER AND GAVE THEM HER ADDRESS THE POLICE PICKED HIM UP FROM THERE. THIS LADY IS KNOWN TO BE A HOMEWRECKER ANYWAY HE GOT TWELVE MONTHS FOR VIOLATING BUT HE TOLD ME HE HATED ME CAUSE I DID IT IFELT LIKR HE SHOULDVE BEEN USING THAT TIME IN THERE TO GET FOCUSED ON HIS CAREER AND KIDS INSTEAD OF HOLDING A GRUDGE AGAINST ME IT REALLY HAS GIVEN ME A CHANCE TO THINK HOW CAN YOU LAY BESIDE SOMEONE KNOWING THEY SHARED INTIMACY WITH SOMEONE LOWER THAN YOUR  STANDARDS YOU CAN FORGIVE BUT CAN YOU EVER ACTUALLY FORGET  ALWAYS IN THE BACK OF YOUR MIND OR WONDERING IF HE WILL DO IT AGAIN ANYWAYS HE ASKED ME FOR A DIVORCE  BECAUSE HE COULDNT BELIEVE I HAD DONE THAT BUT MAYBE ITS THE BEST THING FOR BOTH OF US

It sounds like this has gone down hill fast.  When you get the law involved....it is time to look at yourself and ask yourself "Is this what I want out of life...is this who I am....."  You stood by him when he was making poor choices and this is how he said thanks for being there???  Move on!!!  Sometimes the hurt overcomes the best in us and we don't always make the best choices, however, once you lower yourself, it is you that has to live with you and your descions.  I try (don't always succeed) in taking an hour to think and use the 10, 10, 10 rule.  Will what I choose to do make me or the situation I am in better in 10 minutes, 10 weeks in 10 years. If the answer is no,  try to find another outlet.  Don't go back, just put yourself first and move on.   If he lowered himself once to a standard lower than your expectations...won't he do it again, and if not won't you always question him.  When my ex lowered himself to a level of behavior lower than I felt was below me, I lost all respect and that was something I never got back.  It just disappeared with his betrayal along with the trust.  Don't go back.  You and your kids will do fine.  It may be hard, but life is good  (I have 4 and it can be hard, but you and i know there are times that make it all worth it)  and your kids need  you, don't waste yours or your kids time.  Even if he is blowing smoke, leaving him is best.  Think of your 7 kids.  What a role model he makes.  Move on please and put yourself first with your lovable 7!!!  You will be happy that you did!

maybe he cheated on you just to get back at you. I don't know, only he would have the answer to that, but in my situation, I never got an answer. Working on a marriage has to be with both people working on it, otherwise, it just won't work.  Have you both considered going to a pastor or counseling for help?  I hope that things get better for you.
